Dear Department Major:
The 2009-2010 academic year is fast approaching. I hope you are having an enjoyable summer and at the same time preparing to resume your academic studies for the fall 2010 semester. The faculty and staff of the Department of Urban Affairs, Social Sciences and Social Work look forward to welcoming you back to the University for an exciting and productive school year. Change continues to be the “UDC mantra”. Last year it was the launching of the Community College of UDC. This fall the new College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) and Center for Urban Education become a reality.
It is imperative that as a continuing student, you register for fall 2010 courses on or before August 13, 2010 from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM at web4students.udc.edu. If you do not register on or before August 13th the following will apply:
• Late registration will be August 23 – 24, 2010 and you will be assessed a $150.00 late fee.
• Courses you may need to graduate may be cancelled due to low enrollment.
• Courses you may need for the fall semester may be filled and may not be offered for Spring 2011.
Please take note of the following important dates:
Classes will begin on Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
ADD/DROP: Course Adjustment: -August 25-August 31, 2010; 11:00 am -6:30 pm.
As a continuing student, you are expected to register for classes online. However, if you do not have a PIN number or have not been advised, please consult with your academic advisor prior to attempting to register online. During the registration period, faculty from your academic program will be available in their offices on August 23- 24, 2010 for advising.
If you plan to complete degree requirements for graduation during the Fall Semester, please remember that the last day to apply for graduation is Friday, September10, 2010. A revised department schedule of classes will be available in the Department during the registration period.
Your return to the University of the District of Columbia is important to us, and we are committed to excellence in facilitating the completion of your academic career. Best wishes for an enjoyable summer and a successful academic year.
