Communications Specialist –Contract Position Fannie Mae--Fredrick/Urbana, Maryland

This Communication Specialist (CS) position involves the requirement to respond and assist personnel reporting Emergency (Critical) and Non-Emergency (Non-Critical) events to the Security Control Center. The CS must be able to communicate effectively and accurately, analyze situations, demonstrate critical thinking skills, and determine; then execute, the most appropriate level of response and assistance that is aligned with existing policies, procedures and practices. The CS position requires the ability to deliver superior customer-service, as contact with employees, contractors, vendors and visitors occur on a regular basis. The CS position requires the ability to actively monitor and properly manage a variety of technology tools and applications designed to provide protection to the client personnel, property and assets. The CS position requires the ability to multi-task, time manage, task organize, remain calm during stressful situations, operate independently with minimal supervision, and deliver a work product that meets and exceeds the clients expectations and requirements.

Sought after Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least one year of documented experience as an operator in a control center, command center, security communications center, tactical operations center, or similar environment

• Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication, Communications, Criminal Justice, Security, or communications related field (preferred but not required)

• Knowledge of access control systems, closed circuit television systems, radio communications, telecommunications systems, and security systems technology

• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

• Strong Verbal and Written skills

• Ability to work shift work
