The Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS) announces the current schedule of open testing for Corrections Officer I. Correctional Officer I is the entry level work involving the custody, security, and supervision of adult inmates in a correctional facility. These positions are located throughout the State. If you think you have what is takes to work in this exciting and rewarding field of criminla justice, we encourage you to attend one of these sessions listed below to take the video & written exams, which is the first step in the hiring process.
Minimum Quaifications: 21 years of age and possess a High School diploma or GED certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC) regulations.

■ Walk-in test are given on a first-come, first-served basis (seats are limited); testing is not guaranteed after the allotted amount amount of seats are filled.
■ If you are a veteran, please bring a copy of your DD-214.
■ You may test only one time within a 12 month period and your initial score will be valid for one year. If you attempt to re-take the test while on the current eligible list, that exam will not be scored.
■ For walk-in testing, you do not need to complete an application prior to exam.
Please arrive at the test site no later than 8:30am (except the evening date, if any) with a photo ID.
