NEW Homeland Security - Science & Technology Program
The Criminal Justice Program announces the new HS-STEM Program (Homeland Security - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Funded by a recent award from the Department of Homeland Security to increase the number of underrepresesnted minorities in homeland security science and technology priority research areas, this program has three components:
- SLA Scholars (Scientific Leadership Award)
- HSST Concentration (Homeland Security Science and Technolgy), and
- Student Summer Research Assistantships

Dr. Angelyn S. Flowers and Dr. Sinclair V. Jeter will speak on Moving from the Classroom to the Virtual World: A Case Study of a Program's Journey at the MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) International Conference in San Jose, California in August 2009.
Dr. Sylvia I.B. Hill and Dr. Angelyn S. Flowers have had a paper selected for presentation at the 4th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Studies to be held in Athens, Greece July 2009. The paper is entitled Social Change at the Edge of Chaos. Dr. Flowers will make the presentation.
