AAFEA is now accepting applications for the 2012 AAFEA Fellows Program. The AAFEA Fellows Program is an executive mentoring program designed to cultivate knowledge in the next generation of Federal Government Executives and professionals.
The goal of this program to provide one-on-one consultation for current job issues or aspirations, guidance for professional development opportunities, networking opportunities for those of "like minds", support with preparing ECQs for SES job applications, exposure to high level government activities and active involvement with the African American Federal Executive Association.Executive mentoring is a key component of succession planning within the ranks of the Federal Government. Specific program components include attendance at the Congressional Black Caucus Conference in September and participation in "A Day on the Hill," meeting with Congressional members and attending hearings. The program has proven to be an asset to both the Fellows and the mentors as we aspire to meet our organization's goal of preparing qualified minorities in the Federal Government for the Senior Executive Service.
