The narrative should include clear and concise examples showing the scope and quality of work experiences, accomplishments, and/or potential relevant to exercising executive leadership in the competency areas. A good competency-based qualifications statement should address the following elements: (a) what the activity was, including specific examples, (b) in what environment the activity took place, and (c) the results or impact of the activity.

(3) A Standard Form 50 'Notification of Personnel Action' if you are a current or former Federal employee. It contains an explanation of the SES qualifications (i.e., the ECQs discussed above), as well as samples of narrative statements. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the Guide at the following website: http://www.opm.gov/ses/references/GuidetoSESQuals_2010.pdf
