The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking applications from current students at the graduate level to fill Management/Program Analyst Positions under the 2010 Summer Employment Program. Individuals selected will be expected to perform a variety of duties related the occupational area and program to which they are assigned. This is a temporary position not-to-exceed September 30, 2010.

The incumbents will be assigned to a variety of offices within Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC. They will work under close supervision and receive specific instructions as to when and how to accomplish assigned tasks. Tasks may include routine work supporting the office in which they work; maintaining records; receiving, screening, reviewing and verifying documents; searching and compiling information and data; participating in investigations and researching to ensure sound management principles are utilized within an organization; conducting segments of organizational studies; reviewing operational plans; identifying various resources required to support program operations and writing draft reports of study findings.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
For the GS-5: Possess a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree or 3 years of general experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the knowledge of the theories and principles of organization and management in order to identify, research, analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations or solutions to problem/issues.
For the GS-7: Possess a 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement or 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade in the knowledge of the theories and principles of organization and management in order to identify, research, analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations or solutions to problem/issues.
For the GS-9: Possess a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related or 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the knowledge of the theories and principles of organization and management in order to identify, research, analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations or solutions to problem/issues.
For the GS-11: Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related or 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the knowledge of the theories and principles of organization and management in order to identify, research, analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations or solutions to problem/issues.
